While the book and CD both cover light vehicles, medium & heavy trucks through 2007, with details for 2008 models available at the time of printing, the software version now includes an update button.  For computers with an internet connection, simply register the software, obtain an unlock code and click to check for new vehicle details.

·       VIN Decoder on CD-Rom!

This 6th Edition (software ver. 2.0) includes an updated Vehicle Identification Number decoder.  Enter the VIN number of an otherwise unidentifiable vehicle and this handy tool  instantly decodes the VIN providing details about the make, model and year.  Armed with this information in a few clicks you can quickly navigate to the relevant vehicle details.

·        Expanded Library of Emergency Response Guides

The Street Smarts section on the CD now contains an even larger selection of PDF's from various auto manufacturers.  These documents cover details about hybrid vehicles, airbags and pretensioners, ROPS and other safety details on many vehicles. These guides are written by the vehicle manufacturers and provide valuable instructional information that all rescuers should be aware of.  For computers connected to the internet, this section also includes hyperlinks to each manufacturer's site so you can check for updated documents.

 

Notes: Each CD includes a registration code and single user license for running the program from the CD-Rom, when it is available in a local CD drive.  If the computer does not have a local CD-Rom drive, please register your software, to receive a new code that enables installation onto the computer hard drive as well as unlocking the web update feature.  Once installed to your hard drive, the single user license still applies.
